Gomba

There are 7 secondary schools in Gomba district, 5 of which are beneficiaries of the Superwoman project.
These are Bukandula SS, Kizozi Seed SS, St. Leonard’s Maddu SS, Kyayi Seed SS, and Kasaka SS.

SuperWoman in Gomba District

Gomba is a district in whose regional headquarters are located in kanoni , central Uganda and is a 80km drive away from kampala city by road. The population of the natives in Gomba adds up to 100,000 settlers. Gomba is bordered by Mubende, Mityana and Butambala districts and dates back its history in 2010, 1st of July, where it was spilt from Mpigi District following the 2010 Act of Parliament.

The people of Gomba are Bantu-speaking people and come from Buganda hence known as Baganda by tribe. The natives are largely livestock farmers, supplemented with subsistence agriculture. Their staple food is “matooke,” referred to as bananas and they come from a chiefdom ruled by the “Kabaka.

One of the interesting features of attraction in Gomba is the Mpanga forest reserve. The reserve has over 200 bird species and estimated to have 500 trees aged over a century!
